Excellence in Education Awards were presented to our teachers from Alief, Fort Bend, and Stafford area school districts on Monday, May 18. It is the prestigious Mirabeau B. Lamar medallion on red, white and blue ribbon given to educators that are recognized by their peers for their extra efforts and dedication to the profession. Sugarland Masonic Lodge is honored to continue this recognition of excellence in education that was so important to the President of Texas (recognized as “Father of Education”) Mirabeau B. Lamar of Harmony Lodge No. 6 in Galveston.
